Assunção Flores
É professora e investigadora no Instituto de Educação da Universidade do Minho, onde desenvolve trabalho nas áreas da formação e desenvolvimento profissional de professores, identidade docente, currículo e avaliação. É doutorada em Educação pela Universidade de Nottingham e concluiu na Universidade do Minho a sua formação inicial em ensino e o mestrado em Educação.
Ao longo da sua carreira, tem combinado docência, investigação e liderança científica, com forte projeção nacional e internacional. A sua produção académica tem contribuído de forma significativa para o estudo das políticas educativas, da formação de professores e das práticas pedagógicas, tendo também participado em redes e projetos internacionais na área da educação.
A sua produção científica inclui centenas de publicações, refletindo uma carreira muito ativa em investigação e divulgação científica. Entre as distinções destacam-se prémios internacionais e a referência entre os 2% de cientistas mais influentes do mundo.

Fernando Schmitt
A renowned pathologist and one of the world's leading experts in Cytopathology and Breast Pathology, he has authored more than 500 scientific papers and book chapters. He is Full Professor and Head of the Department of Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), and leads the Molecular Pathology Unit at IPATIMUP, integrated within i3S. He currently serves as Director of the Associated Laboratory RISE – Health Research Network and RISE-Health, while holding prominent leadership positions in the international scientific community, including President of the International Academy of Cytology (IAC), the International Society of Breast Pathology, and the Portuguese Society of Cytology.
His scientific output includes more than 568 publications in peer-reviewed journals and seven books on breast cancer, cytopathology, and molecular pathology. He is a member of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization (WHO), Editor-in-Chief of Pathobiology, and Editor of the WHO series on Cytopathology Reporting Systems. His distinctions include the Dário Cruz Award from the Portuguese League Against Cancer, the Goldblatt Award from the International Academy of Cytology, and three major scientific awards received over the last decade, two of them from international institutions.

Luis Paulo Reis
He received the B.Sc. (1993), M.Sc. (1995), and Ph.D. (2003) degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Porto, Portugal, with specializations in Computer and Systems Engineering, Industrial Informatics, and Artificial Intelligence/Robotics. He is currently an Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and Director of LIACC – the Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science Laboratory. A Senior Member of the IEEE and a PMI-certified Project Management Professional (PMP), he has also served as President of both the Portuguese Robotics Society (SPR) and the Portuguese Association for Artificial Intelligence (APPIA).
His research interests include Intelligent Systems, Robotics, Machine Learning, Simulation, Human–Computer Interaction, and Educational/Serious Games. He has led more than 20 research projects, supervised 27 completed Ph.D. theses and over 180 Master's dissertations, and currently supervises 15 doctoral students. He has evaluated projects for FP6, FP7, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, FCT, ANI, Portugal 2020, and Portugal 2030, organized more than 60 international scientific events, and served on the program committees of over 300 conferences. He is the author or co-author of more than 500 scientific publications and has received over 70 awards for academic, scientific, and teaching excellence.

Goreti Marreiros
Holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence (AI) from the University of Minho. She also earned a Master’s degree in Information Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, both from the University of Porto. She is a Principal Coordinating Professor at the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ISEP/IPP) and President of the Portuguese Association for Artificial Intelligence (APPIA).

José Augusto Cardoso Bernardes
His profile and career focus mainly on three areas of interest: literary history, the humanities, and the transmission of knowledge in school and university contexts. After dedicating many years to the history of Portuguese literature, he has more recently focused on the history of the humanities, including the analysis of their role in the educational offerings of contemporary universities and in pre-university curricula.

NOVA University of Lisbon
Elvira Fortunato
Full Professor at FCT-NOVA, Vice-Rector of NOVA University of Lisbon, and Director of CENIMAT/i3N. She obtained her PhD in Microelectronics and Optoelectronics (1995) and has led since 1998 the team that became renowned for the invention of the paper transistor. She has been awarded two Advanced Grants from the European Research Council — the first (2008) worth €2.25M and the second (2018) worth €3.5M, the highest amount ever awarded to a researcher in Portugal. She has also received the Czochralski Medal and the Blaise Pascal Medal. She has been a member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences and of the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Commission since 2016.
